REVIEW OF RELARED LITERATURE Theoritical Framework - The society is affected to the
Traditional Gender Roles which is made by the society itself. They think that
women should be able to stay at home and raise the children. So that feminist literary
criticism is appeared. Feminist literary criticism always refuses the function
of Traditional Gender Roles because when we talk about gender differences,so
that one side will lose. Feminist Criticism comes in many forms. Some of them
observe about the realtion of men potition in a culture but some of them will
love to observe women or men position in the work of art and see the
correlation between the application and the reality.
Feminist
criticism is concerned with "...the
ways in which literature (and other cultural productions) reinforce or
undermine the economic, political, social, and psychological oppression of
women" (Tyson). This school of theory looks at how aspects of our
culture are inherently patriarchal (male dominated) and "...this critique strives to expose the explicit and implicit
misogyny in male writing about women" (Richter 1346). When we use Feminist criticism and the theory, we have
to create a point of view of a stuggle women so that we can read the phenomena
around related to the discrimination or even emancipation because as you know
that it is a sensitive issue.
In this research, the writer
uses Feminisim to identity the object because Feminism is the most appropriate
theory to be used.
